LEBANON, Mo. (KY3)—Lebanon welcomed its new police chief, Jerry Harrison.

“It’s just an exciting time,” said Chief Harrison.

As a graduate of Monett High School, Chief Jerry Harrison is no stranger to the Ozarks.

” I worked at Monett P.D. for 19 years. Then, I went to Kansas in 2016. I have been a chief of police in Independence, Kansas, since then, so I did eight years there,” said Chief Harrison.

Now, he is taking over for retired Lebanon police chief Bryan Arnold.

Chief Harrison says he’s excited to be in a town where people trust law enforcement.

“The community is growing. They’re just good Midwestern values; they support their police department, they love their cops, and we’re just going to make that better,” said Chief Harrison.

He says the department’s employees care deeply about their jobs.
