Absentee voting begins for Sioux Falls runoff election [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – After low voter turnout in the municipal election last month, Sioux Falls voters have another chance to have their say in a runoff election for a Sioux Falls City Council seat.

A runoff has been declared between Richard Thomason and Jordan Deffenbaugh for an at-large seat on the Council. Neither candidate received at least 50% of the vote on April 9, requiring a runoff election.

Starting April 23, voters can report to the third floor of the Minnehaha County Administration Building at 415 North Dakota Avenue to cast their absentee ballot. All Sioux Falls voters may vote in-person at the Minnehaha County Administration Building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, April 26, as well as on Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. In-person absentee voting ends at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 29.
