Child was inside home when man shot and killed his wife, investigators say [Video]

SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested for murder after shooting and killing his wife Tuesday morning while their 2-year-old son was in the home, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Roger Jordan Conaway, 34, was taken into custody earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

The child was sleeping in another room of the apartment and was not harmed, BCSO said.

According to Deputy Johnny Garcia, a sheriff’s spokesman, Conaway called 911 from a convenience store in the 5900 block of Woodlake Parkway around 8 a.m. He told dispatchers that he had shot his wife in self-defense.

“The male walked into the Valero, placed the weapon on the counter, and made the phone call,” Garcia said.
