Collegiate Legends classic, UNC vs. UCLA | Vault Visit [Video]

GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year, WFMY News 2 turns 75! So to celebrate, we’re opening the News 2 vault. 

June 29, 1987… a battle of the blue bloods on the hardwood. 

The UNC Tar Heels and UCLA Bruins formed alumni teams to go head to head in the collegiate legends classic.

The Tar Heel team included Michael Jordan and Sam Perkins. 

The Bruins team included Reggie Miller and Jack Haley. 

The teams were coached by legends John Wooden and Dean Smith. 

The Heels won 116 to 111.
