Indian Navy Intercepts Iranian Fishing Ship Hijacked By Pirates In Arabian Sea; Rescue Ops Underway [Video]

Indian Navy Operation:  In yet another operation against the piracy in Indian Ocean, the Indian Navy successfully intercepted an Iranian Fishing Vessel ‘Al Kambar 786’, which was reportedly abducted by gunmen in the Arabian Sea.

Navy flung into action after it received input regarding a ‘potential hijacking incident’ on Thursday, diverting two naval ships to assist the distressed vessel, a Navy spokesperson said in a post on microblogging site X.

“Indian Navy Responds to Piracy Attack in the Arabian Sea. Inputs received on a potential piracy incident onboard Iranian Fishing Vessel ‘Al-Kambar’ late evening on Mar 28, 2024, approx 90 nm South West of Socotra,” the release said.

The hijacking took place near the coast of Socotra around 90 nautical miles to the southwest of the region. The ship was reported to have been boarded by 9 armed pirates. …
