An Emirates pilot has lifted the lid on what her day-to-day life in the sky is like and revealed long-haul flights are her favourite.

Biljana Savic, 37, grew up in Sydney and dreamed of becoming a pilot since having the opportunity to see all the buttons and switches in the cockpit on a grounded plane when she was just five years old.

“I loved anything to do with space, I felt as if I was in a space shuttle and from that moment on I used to tell everyone that I would become a pilot one day and I will fly the biggest plane for the world’s largest and best airline,” Savic told 7NEWS.com.au.
