Mexico Is In Turmoil! Storms And Flash Floods Submerged Vehicles And Demolish Homes, Mexico Floods.
Heavy rains lashing the Yucatan Peninsula have wreaked havoc in parts of Quintana Roo, with the state capital, Chetumal, experiencing severe flooding. The relentless downpours, which began on June 14th, overwhelmed drainage systems and caused rivers to overflow, submerging streets and displacing residents. Authorities had been monitoring the situation closely, identifying 59 critical flood points within Chetumal. Shelters were opened as a precaution for residents living in vulnerable areas, according to local media reports from municipal president Yensunni Martínez. Despite these efforts, the deluge proved too much for some neighborhoods. Images circulating on social media show streets transformed into raging rivers, cars submerged underwater, and residents wading through waist-deep floodwaters. Power outages have also been reported across the city, further complicating rescue and relief efforts.
