Here is Creighton volleyball’s schedule for the 2022 season.

One sequence was all the reassurance Creighton needed.

The No. 21 Bluejays were already a game and a half into their Friday night 21-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-8 comeback win over No. 16 Marquette. Ahead six points in Game 4, seniors Kiana Schmitt and Keeley Davis took turns bobbling the ball that the Golden Eagles blocked in their direction.

The play was dead. The ball was headed way wide, hovering close enough to the scorer’s table for fans to touch. Then a dive from junior Ellie Bolton left her sliding toward the sidelines, putting the ball back in play and over the net.

Marquette’s attack fell at the hands of sophomore Norah Sis, a block that made Bolton slap the floor with both hands in celebration and sent Sokol Arena into a frenzy. This was the momentum Kirsten Bernthal Booth wanted her group to seize.
