‘Terror’: Why Saudi Arabia Executed 7 Men In One Day; What This Means I Watch

On February 27, Saudi Arabia executed seven individuals for alleged “terrorism” offenses, marking the highest single-day figure since March 2022 when 81 people were put to death. The convicted individuals were charged with creating and financing terrorist organizations and entities. With 29 executions in 2024, Saudi Arabia, known for prolific capital punishment use, drew global condemnation. In 2023, 170 people were executed, and the kingdom’s notoriety for beheadings sparked international criticism. The nationalities of the seven executed were undisclosed, but their names indicated Saudi nationality. Saudi Arabia executed more individuals in 2022 than any country except China and Iran, including 33 for terrorism-related crimes. December 2023 recorded 38 executions, the deadliest month. Saudi authorities justify executions to maintain public order, adhering to Sharia law based on Quranic teachings.
