Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi has arrived in Pakistan on a significant three-day state visit, marking the first official visit by a Head of State since the general elections in February 2024 and the subsequent formation of a new government.

He has been received guard of honour at PM’s House.

Dr. Raisi, accompanied by his spouse and a prominent delegation including the Foreign Minister and other cabinet members, will engage in crucial meetings with Pakistani leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. Additionally, discussions with Army Chief Gen Asim Munir are anticipated.

The agenda for the visit focuses on strengthening bilateral relations and fostering cooperation in various sectors such as trade, connectivity, energy, and agriculture, signifying the commitment of both nations to further enhance their partnership.
