1 dead after Lebanon Co. silo collapse [Video]

According to the Annville Cleona Fire Department, crews were on scene for seven hours.

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — Update, April 28: The Annvile Cleona Fire Department (ACFD) has confirmed that one man passed away on Saturday after a silo collapsed in on him while he was inside.

According to the fire department, the initial 911 caller reported that a silo collapsed while a man was inside, working to level to silage.

Officials with the fire department reported that further emergency and heavy equipment support was “urgently requested” as the scene unfolded.

The rescue mission was then transitioned into a recovery effort when a body was discovered within the silo by a K-9 unit at 1:10 p.m., according to the ACFD.

Crews were then on the scene for seven hours to ensure the victim’s safe recovery.
