Amid War Talk & Missile Strikes, Iran Pushes Antarctica Mission Forward, What’s Tehran’s Polar Plan?

Iran announced on January 28 that its navy plans to expand its presence to the South Pole. According to the commander of the Iranian Navy, the plan aligns with the global trend of nations expanding their influence in this strategic region. The announcement comes after Tehran said in 2023 that the Iranian armed forces would expand its presence to three world oceans, the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific. The Iranian fleet currently operates in the waters of the Indian Ocean, where it conducts joint military exercises with India, China and Oman. Watch the video to find out more.
