MOUNT HOREB, Wis. (WBAY) – The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation continue to investigate the incident that happened in the Village of Mount Horeb.
Authorities say around 11:10 a.m. someone called 911 after witnessing someone moving toward Mount Horeb Middle School with a backpack and what appeared to be a long gun.
State Attorney General Josh Kaul confirmed the 14-year-old male was a student in the Mount Horeb School District.
Police say they responded to the school where they located the teen who fit that description. They found him in the area of the middle school, east of the main entrance at 900 Garfield Street. Officers say that they told the suspect to drop the weapon, but he did not. The 14-year-old then pointed the weapon at officers, so police discharged their firearms, striking the suspect.
