McDonald’s (MCD) saw mixed earnings results on Monday, reporting its first quarterly sales miss in four years. With earnings results from Yum! Brands (YUM) expected out on Wednesday, should investors be worried about fast food stocks?
Guggenheim Securities Senior Analyst Gregory Francfort joins Yahoo Finance Live anchors Seana Smith and Brad Smith to discuss the current state of fast-casual dining.
Francfort believes that pushback in the Middle East is “likely to happen” for US fast food companies that have a presence there, in response to current US stances on geopolitical tensions.
Taking a closer look at menu innovation, Francfort acknowledges shifting preferences from consumers but insists that value-driven offerings are what consumers are most concerned with, stating “the US consumer values price… than anything else.”
