ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – David Lubin is using a tragedy as motivation for a higher calling.
The Tucker resident, a commercial builder by trade, is running in the upcoming Democratic primary race for Georgia State Senate against incumbent Sally Harrell (D-Atlanta).
For Lubin, the race is personal. In November, Lubin’s daughter Rose was killed in action fighting with Israeli forces in the still-roiling conflict with Hamas. She was what’s known as a lone wolf soldier, a non-Israeli citizen who volunteered to defend Israel in the fighting.
“It was traumatic, we were in shock,” Lubin said. “It was the knock on the door that no parent ever wants to have and as soon as I opened the door, I knew what happened.”
