LEBANON, Ohio (WXIX) – An inmate already serving time for murder has now been indicted for killing his cellmate.
Jedidiah Lang has been indicted for two counts of murder, strangulation, and felonious assault, according to Warren County court records.
Prosecutors say Lang and his cellmate at the Warren Correctional Institution got into an argument that escalated to Lang strangling his cellmate to death on Oct. 26, 2023.
Although prosecutors haven’t named the victim in Lang’s case, the county coroner said in 2023 that inmate Cody Bartimus died after he was strangled during a fight with his cellmate on Oct. 26, 2023.
The coroner said they think a towel was used and the suspect admitted to doing it.
Bartimus was serving time for two separate sex crimes involving minors.
Lang has been locked up since November 2013 for a murder case out of Knox County.
