MSC Aries Crew Released: Iran’s Foreign Minister on Friday said that Tehran has released the entire crew of Portuguese-flagged cargo ship MSC Aries, which was seized by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards last month with 25 crew members, including 17 Indians, onboard. The crew’s release was mentioned in a telephonic conversation between Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian and his Estonian counterpart Margus Tsahkna, as per an Iranian readout.

However, the ship, which has links to Iran’s arch enemy Israel, continues to remain in Tehran’s custody, Abdollahian said. The sole female Indian national amongst the ships crew members, Ann Tessa Joseph, was released days after the tanker was seized by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps on April 13.
