Iran is reportedly soon set to add Russia-made Su-35 fighter jets to its aerial fleet. Iran reportedly made a deal in 2023 winter to acquire a number of Russian Su-35 Flanker-E fighter jets. Soon after Israel’s April 19 attack on Iran, state media claimed Tehran was close to receiving the Su-35s, the report was later withdrawn. However, Iran is expected to eventually receive the Russian fighter jets. The Russian jets are frequently compared to the American F-16 Fighting Falcons, which Israel possesses.
