Israel has closed the Kerem Shalom crossing with Gaza after several rockets were fired by Hamas from an area nearby in southern Gaza, according to the Israeli Defence Forces.
Meanwhile – with ceasefire talks now reportedly on a knife-edge – the director of the CIA headed to Qatar to discuss how to exert maximum pressure on Hamas and Israel to continue negotiations. Jane Deith has this.
