BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – After seven months, Birmingham Police now say they have identified persons of interest in the shooting death of Birmingham Fire Fighter Jordan Melton.
Melton’s mother, Rochelle Malone, is still searching for answers and finding ways to honor her son’s legacy, and that includes at tomorrow’s Jordan E. Melton Safety Summit.
It would have been Melton’s 30th birthday tomorrow. His mother hopes the event not only shines a light on her late son, but helps better Birmingham.
The safety summit will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club.
Birmingham Fire Chief Corey Moon will teach a fire safety awareness class and BPD Chief Scott Thurmond will hold a gun violence and conflict resolution class.
