To tackle gender inequality at the household level, the Discussion Group Series (DGS) engages rural women and men in facilitated conversations about the value of women’s contribution in household economics, decision-making, as well as effective communication and non-violent conflict resolution.
To celebrate their final session, the first group of DGS couples in Homs governorate held an event in preparation for International Women’s Day, where Muna and Abdul Nasser set an example to follow for their mutual support, understanding, and compassion at the household.
The DGS is part of the FAO’s Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) pilot projects, implemented under the Building Local Resilience in Syria (BLRS) Project with funding from UK Aid.
