LEBANON, Ind. — A Lebanon man is under arrest for child molestation after police gained access to Snapchat photographs and conversations that he thought were secret.
Nicholas McDonald, 28, was arrested on March 22 at his home on Seren Drive in Lebanon. He faces one count of child molestation, a Level 4 felony; two counts of child exploitation, a Level 4 felony; and two counts of possession of child pornography, a Level 5 felony.
According to court documents, Snapchat tipped off the Boone County Child Abuse and Sexual Exploitation Task Force after an account reportedly tied to McDonald uploaded child porn material.
Investigators ended up gaining access to McDonald’s Snapchat history. They reportedly found photographs and conversations that not only detailed his alleged molestation of an underage child but contained photographs and videos showing his illicit acts.
