NEOM is taking a big step towards supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of growing a sustainable tourism industry by introducing Leyja, a new ecotourism spot. This project, led by architects Mario Cucinella, Chris van Duijin, and Shaun Killa, is planned along the Gulf of Aqaba coast, stretching into a valley surrounded by 400-meter-high mountains. Leyja is all about keeping things natural, with 95% of its area set aside as a nature reserve. The idea is to mix smart, eco-friendly design and building practices that fit right in with the landscape, showing NEOM’s focus on protecting the environment while developing new places for people to visit.
