LOOK: Russia, China, Iran start active phase of joint naval drills in Gulf of Oman | ANC [Video]

Joint naval drill of Russian, Iranian and Chinese ships and aircraft entered active phase in Gulf of Oman on Wednesday (March 13). The mission for the day includes liberation of merchant vessel captured by pirates with deployment of helicopters and search and rescue units, Russian Defence ministry said. Exercise codenamed Maritime Security Belt 2024 will last until March 15 with practice of live firing on targets imitating aerial and sea drones, according to ministry. The drill unfolds as US and British forces continue to deliver airstrikes on Yemeni Houtis who attack international merchant ships and attempt to hit Western naval targets in the region.
