The family of a Birmingham firefighter who was shot to death last year spoke out in a press conference Tuesday.On July 12, 2023, Firefighters Jordan Melton and Jamal Jones were doing routine morning maintenance in the Norwood area at BFRS Station 9 when a man entered the building through the bay door and shot them both, according to the Birmingham Police Department.Both men were transported to UAB Hospital where Jordan Melton would later succumb to his injuries.During the press conference, Melton’s mother expressed her frustration at the lack of development in her son’s case.
