Northwood Technical now offering Hunter Scheel Memorial Scholarship for veterans [Video]

CHETEK, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A scholarship for veterans is now available in honor of a fallen police officer. Northwood Technical College is offering the Hunter Scheel Memorial Scholarship. The Cameron Police Officer was killed during a traffic stop in the village of Cameron on April 8^th last year. The scholarship will be open to veterans enrolled in the academy at the Rice Lake campus.

Chetek Police say Scheel graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at the College in 2022. He served in the Army National Guard and completed a tour in Afghanistan and Kuwait and was honored with a number of service medals.
