SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Ozarks Food Harvest is set to receive a donation of more than 208,000 eggs from Opal Foods just before Easter. The donation is expected to come in Monday around 9:30 a.m.
Opal Foods, based in Neosho, has been donating to the organization since 2008 and has donated more than 4 million eggs since then.
“This is actually total about 4.6 million eggs that they have donated, those are to Food Harvest. So they’ve been incredibly generous partners in not only to us, but to the families of southwest Missouri,” said Jordan Browning, director of communications for Ozarks Food Harvest.
The donation, totaling out to over 23,000 dozens of eggs, will go to help hungry families in Ozarks Food Harvest’s 28 county service area. OFH says that one in seven adults and children go hungry in this area, so these donations are crucial.
