Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has initiated a new reform by banning Iftars in mosques ahead of Ramadan, aiming to regulate observance and ensure consistency in charitable activities. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs issued instructions for Ramadan activities, emphasizing guidelines for prayers and prohibiting collection of donations by imams. Since 2017, Salman has led significant reforms, including lifting the music performance ban, reopening movie theaters, allowing women to drive and attend stadiums and concerts, and facilitating women’s travel without male guardianship. In September 2019, Saudi Arabia began embracing tourism to diversify its economy.
