Sweet Home firefighters, Lebanon medic units respond to two fires and multiple medical calls | Local [Video]

SWEET HOME, Ore. – Sweet Home firefighters responded to two fires on Friday with Lebanon Fire District medics assisting in responding to multiple medical calls that came in during the incidents, according to the Sweet Home Fire District.

Fire officials said they responded at 12:34 p.m. on March 15 to a reported power line down in the area of Cascadia about 13 miles east of Sweet Home. Responding firefighters arrived to find brush fully involved in fire with flames reaching two to three feet high along Highway 20 and was quickly spreading into nearby trees and brush, authorities said. The fire district said a live power line on the ground presented challenges in putting the fire out but after Pacific Power crews responded to the scene firefighters were able to contain the fire to an area estimated at 300 feet by 25 feet.
