The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 8:56 p.m. on Tuesday for strong thunderstorms until 9:30 p.m. for Upper Bucks.
Expect marble-sized hail (0.5 inches) and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
“At 8:56 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Clinton to Erwinna. Movement was east at 35 mph,” says the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.”
Locations impacted by the alert include Somerville, Bridgewater, Mendham, Flemington, Tinicum, High Bridge, Clinton, Peapack And Gladstone, Hopewell, Glen Gardner, Frenchtown, Lebanon, Milford, Califon, Far Hills, Skillman, Flagtown, Ottsville, Sergeantsville and Cloverhill. This includes the following highways: Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 10 and 34. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 17 and 29.
