President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia were present on Saturday, April 27, 2024, for the laying in state and funeral rites of Kwabena Kwakye, popularly known as Wofa KK.
The deceased, a prominent broadcaster at Oman 107.1FM, part of Kencity Media in Accra, passed away in mid-February 2024.
The funeral was held at the forecourt of State House with top government officials and high-ranking New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in attendance.
Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer for the 2024 presidential polls arrived and was received by the NPP General Secretary. He went on to pay respects to the deceased and exchanged pleasantries with family and allies present.
The General Secretary again received President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who also went through the protocols of greeting except that he did not acknowledge friends and allies of the deceased who were gathered under an adjoining tent.
