Indy man late for work leads IMPD on high-speed chase [Video]

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man was arrested and charged after leading police on a chase because he was running late to work. 

According to court documents filed Wednesday, on April 11, an IMPD officer was stationed on Interstate 465 near the 12.6 mile-marker on Indy’s southwest side when they saw a blue Dodge Charger with an Ohio license plate traveling at a high rate of speed. 

The officer clocked the Charger going 90 mph in a 55-mph zone. 

After turning on their emergency lights and siren, the officer said the driver accelerated to 100 mph, cut across three lanes of traffic and exited onto West Washington Street. 

Court documents say the driver then turned onto South High School Road before turning west onto Dunn Way. The driver allegedly did so while disregarding stop signs.
